Q01Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit. The codes are generated in your browser.
Q02Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static: the content is stored in the code itself, so they work for ever, but they cannot be changed or tracked.
Q03What is the difference from QR codes in the app?
Codes made in the GoTinyURL app can point at a short link, which makes them dynamic: editable after printing and tracked per scan. The app also adds logos, frames, dot styles and 17 code types.
Q04Which format should I download?
SVG for print, because it scales without blurring. PNG for screens, documents and social posts.
Q05What error correction level should I use?
M is a good default. Use Q or H if the code will be printed on rough surfaces or might get scratched.
Q06Is my Wi-Fi password sent anywhere?
No. The code is created entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Q07Can I change the colours?
Yes, but keep the dark colour clearly darker than the background, or phones may not read it.
Q08How big should I print it?
At least about 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for close scanning; for distance, about one tenth of the scanning distance.
